Governor Justice Releases 1.5 Million Dollars to the Town of Pax

PAX., WV (WOAY)–  Last week Governor Jim Justice allocated over 12 million dollars to different areas throughout West Virginia for various infrastructure improvements. Out of the money awarded the Town of Pax was given 1.5 million dollars.

In a press release issued by Governor Justice the money will go towards the expansion of their sewer waste water treatment system. The addition comes after several Willis branch residents petitioned for the expansion. The area has always had water service, but lacked sewer service.

William Hughes the Mayor of Pax adds that,”Water runoff was in their properties and thus damaging their septic systems causing residue to enter the stream and creek.”

Mayor Hughes adds that, the update is much needed since their current system is deteriorating. City officials are aiming to break ground on the new sewer line this summer.

Within the next view weeks they will start interviewing companies to decide who will construct the sewage extension.
