HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) – A member of the West Virginia House of Delegates has announced his resignation.
The Herald-Dispatch reports Republican Del. Chuck Romine of Cabell announced Friday that he was stepping down for health and personal reasons. In his resignation letter, he said he and his wife have moved to a retirement community outside of the 16th District.
Romine said in the letter that he has been honored to serve five terms in the House. He announced in January that he would not seek re-election. His term ends in November.
Gov. Jim Justice has 15 days to appoint someone to the seat.
