Good News Fayette County goes virtual this year

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – This year, the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and the Fayette County Health Department will present a virtual Good News Fayette County community program.

This will give 20 speakers from across the county an opportunity to share good news about things that are happening in the area with the public in a Zoom call format.

Last year, they did this at the Lewis Community Center and over 50 people participated.

Eric Pories, a member of the chamber who will be participating this year, says they’re hoping to exceed that not only because of the virtual access but because of the increased need for good news in today’s world.

“We all could use a dose of good news,” Pories said. “What we’re doing right now is we’re recruiting a minimum of 20 speakers that have identified good news that they can share and for them to go ahead and register briefly as a speaker. You’ve got up to two minutes to share that good news.”

This will take place on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.. The Zoom call link and registration info can be found at fayettecounty.com
