SUMMERSVILLE, WV (WOAY) – The quest for a second straight tournament title ended Saturday for WVU Tech men’s basketball, as they lost 73-64 to IU Kokomo in the semifinals of the River States Conference Tournament.
IU Kokomo would go on a run in the early part of the first half to lead by double digits, though WVU Tech would receive key contributions from Junior Arrey, who scored 16 points. Juvante’ Hayes and Dominik King scored 14 and 12 points, respectively.
The season is not over for either WVU Tech basketball team, however. Both squads have qualified for the NAIA National Tournament by winning the RSC regular season championships. The fields for both tournaments will be announced in early March.
