FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY)—- Giving Tuesday is a day where many communities and organizations help encourage giving back to others and one local police station is doing just that.
Shop With A Cop fundraising is happening now to help provide resources for children who are unable to have a Christmas because funds are limited.
Shop With A Cop benefits more than 100 needy children yearly and the Fayette County law enforcement officers need your help during the fundraiser.
“The law enforcement community appreciates it because we usually have a very good donation from the citizens of Fayette County and I believe it is in fact because they know that the money is going to stay local here and it’s not going to pay any bills, but rather go directly to the children,” said Chief Michael Whisman, Oak Hill Police Department.
If you would like to make a donation, you can send money to the Oak Hill Police Department identifying that it is for the Shop With A Cop event or visit the Oak Hill Police Department with your donation so that Fayette County children in need will be able to celebrate Christmas.
