West Virginia (WOAY)- Gas prices are declining throughout West Virginia this week.
According to Gas Buddy, prices are down 2.4 cents per gallon on average this week, with the average price at $2.97 per gallon.
The cheapest gallon of gas in West Virginia costs $2.49, and the most expensive gallon is $4.43.
The national average fell by 2.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging at $3.03 a gallon.
With the median U.S. gas price now at $2.95 per gallon, the lowest since 2021, the national average could fall below $3 per gallon for the first time since May 2021.
Gas prices have remained steady following the election, with the national average price of gasoline declining for a fourth consecutive week as seasonal demand weakens and Americans begin to take refuge from falling temperatures.
