Former WVU Tech President speaks to students about climate change

BECKLEY (WOAY)- WVU Tech’s former President came back to school Wednesday to hold a climate change seminar.

Charles Bayless delivered his”The Story on Climate Change” seminar to math and science majors. The school calls Bayless an expert on energy, climate change and the world’s oceans. He was President in the early to mid 2000’s.

He explains why it’s so important to teach students about climate change.

“I’ll talk to anyone I can find about it,” Bayless said. “I think students are critical because they’re the future generations who are going to suffer the most from it. Just life span, I’m 76 so I probably won’t see the brunt of it but they will.”

Bayless spoke to the students for about an hour and says one thing many people don’t know is that climate change was discovered all the way back in 1908.
