Former Valley High football coach pleads guilty to selling Subutex

FAYETTE CO., WV (NEWS RELEASE) – Larry “Makie” McCommack, II, the former football coach at Valley High School, pled guilty to two counts of the felony offense of delivery of Subutex Monday, according to Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney Larry E. Harrah, II.

McCommack admitted to selling Subutex to a confidential informant near Smithers, West Virginia on consecutive days in February of 2017.

Subutex is the brand name of the narcotic Buprenorphine.  It can treat pain as well as addiction to other narcotic pain relievers.

Sentencing will be held before Judge Paul M. Blake, Jr. on February 5, 2018. McCommack faces one (1) to five (5) years in prison, per count.

This crime was investigated by members of the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force and prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Elizabeth Campbell.
