COAL CITY— The former Assistant Fire Chief of the Coal City Volunteer Fire Department has been indicted on multiple charges in Raleigh County Court.
Dustin Boggs was indicted on May 17 of one count of embezzlement and two counts of insurance fraud.
The indictment states that between July 1 and November 30 of 2016 Boggs embezzled $19,302.00 from the Coal City Fire Department. It’s also states that between July and August 2016 Boggs submitted two false claims to the insurance company of Glatfelter Claims Management and/or American Alternative Insurance Corporation. These claims were for $9,560.00 and $6,490.59.
The Coal City Volunteer Fire Department tells us Boggs is no longer affiliated with the department.
