BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Former Beckley Mayor Emmett Pugh passed away this afternoon.
Emmett Pugh, 67, passed away at Duke University in North Carolina where he was on life support. Family members say Pugh passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
“We held his hand as he took his last breaths on this Earth and entered into Heaven.” family members say.
Pugh was the Mayor of Beckley for 25 years.
