CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) By JARROD CLAY — A Florida man was cited by Yeager Police Thursday morning after a TSA officer spotted a gun in his checked bag during a routine screening.
After the TSA officer spotted the .380 caliber revolver, the man was stopped and questioned. According to a release from the airport, the man said he purposely did not declare the firearm was in his bag.
The man was cited for failing to declare a firearm, according to the airport. His name has not been released.
Passengers are allowed to travel with firearms in checked bags if they are properly packaged and declared. Firearms must be unloaded, packed in a hard-sided case, locked and packed separately from ammunition.
