Deputy chief and former firefighter both lose homes to fire; One family accepting clothing donations

Tuesday was a hard day for our Fire/EMS family.

Our Deputy Chief’s house caught fire in the afternoon and with everyone from all the departments working as a team we were able to contain the fire mostly to an addition that had been built on; the home is currently uninhabitable until repairs can be made and power is restored.

Later in the evening as we were working to get things back in service, we were informed of a house fire in Bradley which was the home of a former BPVFD Firefighter and current EMT, we know however that there is no such thing as a former Firefighter and we also stand beside this brother. This home however, did receive much more damage and will likely be deemed a total loss. This family had 3 children and another on the way.

We ask everyone to please keep these families in your prayers and if anyone would like to contribute to helping them please contact Assistant Chief Bobby Palmer by phone at (681) 238-8089 or by email at or by Facebook Messenger.

Derek Wriston has 3 kids and his wife is having a baby soon.

If you can help, please call the Bradley – Prosperity VFD at (304) 877-2340
