BECKLEY (WOAY) – Over the weekend, Fitzpatrick Park hosted a softball tournament for four different age groups ranging from 10 to 18. In total, 15 teams competed in the annual Raleigh Roundup.
The championships wrapped up on Sunday. Games included the West Virginia Liberty winning the 12U final, and the West Virginia Stars defeating the Virginia Stars in the 18U title game.
Fitzpatrick Park had to undergo renovations in order to host the USA Softball-sponsored event. Now that the park is in better shape, the county is hoping the tournament promotes more softball in the area, along with other sporting events at the park.
