West Virginia (WOAY)- A Marshall University graduate student who was at risk of deportation is now permitted to stay in the U.S. following a judge’s ruling.
The American Civil Liberties Union of West Virginia (ACLU) is representing the student in a legal capacity.
The ACLU-WV reports that a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order allowing their client to remain in the country.
The Trump administration had revoked his legal status just weeks before he was set to graduate.
The ACLU-WV states, “it won’t stop fighting until his status is permanently restored.”
