Fayetteville dentist celebrates 40 years in business

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Thursday marked 40 years in business for Fayetteville dentist Dr. Bruce Cassis.

Dr. Cassis has been an integral part of not just the Fayetteville community, but the entire national dentistry community as well as he is now the President-elect of the nationwide Academy of General Dentistry.

In his 40 years, he says he has never experienced anything like a global pandemic when he had to shut down for 7 full weeks. He even considered if that would be the start of his retirement.

However,  it is his commitment and passion for his staff and generations of patients that have kept in him in the profession for 40 years and brought him through one of the industry’s most challenging times.

“They’re everything,” Dr. Cassis said. “That’s why we have stringent infection control. That’s why we have all of the latest techniques in dentistry. You do it for your patients. They’re the most important asset that you have when you’re practicing dentistry.”

Cassis will be sworn in as president of the Academy of General Dentistry in November.
