MEADOW BRIDGE, WV (WOAY) – One man is in jail after repeatedly hitting a woman who was 10 weeks pregnant.
Fayette County Deputies were dispatched to a home on Friday, August 3, for a domestic in progress. The victim called 911 but didn’t speak. Dispatchers could hear a women screaming in the background. When deputies arrived they found the victim outside of the home and the suspect, Jessy Lee Belcher, 29, inside of the home.
Belcher had hit the victim repeatedly in the back, the stomach, and on her head. The victim had red marks on her face, lump on her head, and bite marks on the palm of her hand.
The victim was transported to a hospital to be evaluated because she was 10 weeks pregnant.
Belcher is charged with domestic battery and is being held in the Southern Regional Jail under a 2,500 dollar bond.
