OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – A Fayette County woman celebrates her 101st birthday.
Virginia Williams has been an avid member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church, and to celebrate her birthday this year, her fellow churchgoers surprised her with a drive-thru parade.
Her daughter Judith Smith says that it’s heartwarming to know that her mother is cared for so much by the community that she’s lived in for years.
“It is very warming to your heart to know that your parent, and a member of your family, and someone you love and care for is cared for by the neighborhood and the town she lives in. She’s lived here many years and she’s been a long-time member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. And it makes we as her family very happy to know that she has been appreciated and thought of this much,” Smith said.
More than a dozen churchgoers drove through to wish Virginia a happy birthday.
