Fayette County Woman Accused Of Embezzling Thousands Of Dollars Appears In Court

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – A Fayette County woman accused of embezzling thousands of dollars appeared in court today.

Stephanie Roark, the former Fayetteville Football Midget League’s treasurer, waived her right to a preliminary hearing this morning in front of Magistrate Gregory Crist.

An investigation was started earlier this year after bills were not paid and 13,000 dollars went missing.

The case will now go to circuit court.

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – A Fayette County woman is facing felony embezzlement allegations.

The Detective Bureau of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department has been investigating embezzlement allegations involving the treasurer of the Fayetteville Football Midget League. The football league discovered that outstanding uniform/equipment debts were going unpaid. The investigation indicates that approximately $13,000 has been taken by the treasurer.

The league’s Treasurer, Stephanie Roark,  31 of Fayetteville,  was arrested this afternoon on the felony charge of Embezzlement.  She was released after posting the $10,000 bond set by the Fayette County Magistrate’s Office.

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – An investigation is underway into possible embezzlement within the Fayetteville Midget League.

Multiple Fayette County law enforcement officials confirm to WOAY that Stephanie Roark is being investigated for possibly embezzling money from the league.

Roark’s husband was the president of the league at one time, but her role is currently unclear.
