OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Fayette County voters pass the education tax levy that will bring an extra 10 million a year to Schools.
The unofficial results stand at 2263 voting for the levy and 1108 voting against it.
Here’s how the funds will be used:
• $823,000 to provide textbooks
• $650,000 for universal feeding
• $180,000 for student security
• $225,000 for instructional support
• $26,500 for public library support
• $85,000 for student activities and athletics
• $60,000 for music support
• $25,000 for art support
• $120,000 for reading support
• Over $1 million towards a 21st Century Technical Curriculum
• $1.3 million towards building maintenance and capitol improvements
• $2.5 million towards professional salary support
• $1 million towards service salary support.
