Fayette County Shop with a Cop program continues to thrive thanks to community’s generosity

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Shop with a Cop received a 10,000 dollar check from Fayette County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.

Earlier this summer ATV and UTV riders gather for a weekend of riding in the mountains of Fayette and Nicholas County, with all of the Proceeds going to Shop with a Cop. Nicholas Hall, a Deputy with Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, says Shop with a Cop depends entirely on money donated by the community, private citizens, businesses, and various fundraisers.

“This event brings in roughly 600 plus people they pay to ride and with the sponsors and people that come in town for this event we were able to raise a surplus of 10,000 dollars for this year shop with a cop event,” said Nicholas Hall, Fayette County Deputy.

They are planning to take nearly 100 kids later this month shop with local law enforcement.
