Fayetteville, WV (WOAY)- A derby is coming up for all you young anglers out there…
Fayette County Parks and Rec will host its annual kids trout derby this Saturday, April 26, in Fayetteville.
The derby will kick off at 8:30 am with registration.
Participants must register at least 30 minutes before fishing and bring their own pole and tackle.
A limited number of loaner rods will be available.
The event will be divided by age group, starting with anglers aged five and under, who will fish from 9:00 am to 9:45 am.
Children aged 6 to 10 will fish from 10:00 am to 11:15 am.
Participants ages 11 to 14 years old will fish between 11:30 and 12:45.
Each child will be able to take two fish home.
Otherwise, the derby will be catch-and-release.
Fishing by adults is not allowed.
