Fayette County man arrested after shooting a dog

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – A Nallen man has been arrested for shooting a dog and other charges. Sheriff Mike Fridley released the following information.

Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated an incident in the Nallen area involving a dog being shot by a subject with a handgun. Further information revealed that the alleged suspect had shot this dog for unjustifiable purposes. The dog was treated for injuries recieved. It was also determined that the subject is not permitted to possess firearms due to a prior felony conviction.

Michael David Redman, 57 of Nallen, was arrested this date after self-reporting to the Sheriff’s Department in Fayetteville. He was charged with Cruelty to Animals, Prohibited Person in Possession of Firearms and Discharging a Firearm Within 500 feet of a Dwelling. His bond was set at $15,000 by the Fayette County Magistrate Court, and now awaits court proceedings.
