ANSTED, WV (WOAY ) – A Kanawha County woman was arrested in Ansted on Friday in a stolen vehicle.

The Fayette County 911 Center notified deputies on Friday morning of an assault incident that had just occurred at Hawks Nest State Park. An employee there noticed a woman trying to gain entry into a vehicle. When confronted by the employee, the woman fled in a white Ford SUV, nearly striking the employee. The vehicle with the woman inside was located at the Hawks Nest Marina. Ansted Police were already on scene attempting to get the woman to exit the car. The deputy managed to get the woman to partially lower her window. The deputy reached in the window to unlock the door, at which time she rolled the window up on the deputy’s arm. The woman was eventually taken into custody.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered the white Ford SUV was recently stolen from the McDonalds’ parking lot in Quincy, in Kanawha County. A K-9 scan and a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a pill bottle containing miscellaneous pills. An evaluation was conducted by the Sheriff’s Department’s Drug Recognition Expert on the female driver.

The woman, Kristina Star Green (33 of Belle) was charged with Driving Under the Influence-Drugs, Possession of Narcotics, Battery on a Police Officer, and Driving on Suspended License. She was remanded to the Southern Regional Jail after being unable to post the $5,000 bond set by the Fayette County Magistrate’s Office. Additional charges may be pending in the coming days.
