SMITHERS, WV (WOAY) – This afternoon Sheriff’s Deputies in Fayette County were dispatched to Lexington Coal in the Smithers area regarding a trespassing complaint. Employees there had detained a man they allegedly caught attempting to steal circuit breakers and copper cabling from inside one of their buildings. The Deputies noted that it appeared the male subject did attempt to steal circuit breakers, causing extensive damage in the process. The male also had an ATV and tools to aid in the theft. He was taken into custody without incident.
The male subject, Jamie Lee King (32 of Pratt), was charged with felony Destruction of Property, Entering Without Breaking and Attempt to Commit a Felony. He was unable to post the $50,000 bond set by the Fayette County Magistrate’s Office and was remanded to the Southern Regional Jail.
