Fayette County Accident Results in Fatality

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY)- One person has died after a motor vehicle accident in Fayette County.

The Fayette County Sheriffs Dept., tell us they received the call around 6:30 P.M., after reports of a two-car collision along RT.61 near Adena Village.

The driver of one vehicle required extrication by fire personnel and was medically transported to Montgomery General Hospital for treatment, we’re told they are in stable condition.  The driver of the second vehicle died on scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.  The identity of the driver will not be released due to the driver being under the age of 18.

Deepwater Mountain Road was closed for two hours until the scene could be cleared.

Armstrong Creek Fire Department, Fayette County Sheriffs Department, and General EMS responded to the scene.
