FAYETTE CO., WV (WOAY) – If you own property in Fayette County, and it’s value increased in 2017, you probably got a property assessment card in the mail recently.
The assessor’s office found a bug in the calculations, however, and will have to send new cards back out.
So Assessor Eddie Young says throw the card you have away. The new ones have to be mailed by January 15th, so you’ll have the new one in the next few days.
His office also wants to remind everyone that while the county is having an Education Tax Levy election soon, that item has nothing to do with your property assessment.
