MOUNT HOPE– A Fayette County man is facing multiple charges after a burglary in Mount Hope this weekend.
On Sunday, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to a home on Pack’s Branch Road in Mount Hope after the homeowner returned from vacation to find their home had been burglarized. About 30 firearms, $8,000 in cash, jewelry, collector’s money and a large flat screen television were reported missing.
On Tuesday deputies received information about the possible location of these stolen items. A search warrant was obtained and executed at another home in the Mount Hope area. Deputies recovered 20 of the stolen firearms, the television, a portion of the jewelry and a portion of the collectible money.
Jonathan Adkins was charged with Burglary and Grand Larceny. Since Adkins is a convicted felon, he has also been charged with 20 counts of a Prohibited Person In Possession of Firearms. He was transported to the Southern Regional Jail to await arraignment.
