Fayette Co. Couple Arrested After Heroin Found Within Reach of Baby

MOUNT HOPE– A Fayette County couple has been arrested for felony child endangerment.

Early Friday morning the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department went to a camper in Mount Hope to serve warrants on Nicole Riser and Brandon Clark. When they arrived they found Riser’s 3 year old child sleeping on a pile of blankets. Also in the camper was a quantity of heroin and associated paraphernalia within easy reach of the child. Riser and Clark were both taken into custody. Custody of the child was transferred to a grandparent.

Both were charged with the felony offense of Gross Child Neglect Creating Risk of Injury, as well as Possession of Heroin. These are in addition to the pending misdemeanor warrants for Obstruction and Conspiracy. They remain in the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of a $10,000.00 bond. Child Protective Services was contacted to initiate their investigation.
