Fatal Fire Breaks Out in Braxton County; four people unaccounted for

BRAXTON COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — West Virginia fire marshals said there was one confirmed death after a residential fire in Braxton County Thursday morning. Two people were transported to the West Penn Burn Center in Pittsburgh, and officials are still searching for four other people.

The call came in about 7:30 a.m. regarding a house fire in the 2700 block of Elk River Road between Frametown and Gassaway in the Rock Camp area.

Fire marshals said the cause for the fire is unknown at this time. West Virginia fire marshals initially said three people had died in the fire, however, just one death has been confirmed.
