Excitement building ahead of summer baseball league

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – While the high school regular season and West Virginia Miners’ season were both canceled in 2020, Epling Stadium is now days away from hosting a summer baseball league for both middle and high school players.

As mentioned last week, high school games will begin on Saturday, June 27, and allow for graduated high school seniors to play baseball before heading to college, as well a chance for incoming ninth graders to see how they fare against high school competition.

Multiple area counties will be represented in this league, but school names and uniforms will not be allowed to be used, per WVSSAC rules. In addition, coaches are not permitted to be directly involved with the teams in the league.

Regardless, Princeton’s Keith Rose and Shady Spring’s Jordan Meadows have been encouraging players to take part in the league this summer.
