Dry Streak Continues; Rain to End the Week

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Another chilly morning will be had through the region, and a nice breeze in some areas will only make things feel colder on your morning commute. Temperatures will improve into the mid-50s across the region today, but increasing cloud coverage will keep the temperatures from increasing much past that today. Thankfully, a warm front will bring nicer temperatures tomorrow before we gradually drop in temperature over the weekend. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

Mostly sunny skies will last all the way through Thursday with some fluctuation in cloud cover through the middle of the work week. A low-pressure system will miss to our north, followed by high-pressure, which will keep us dry through Thursday. However, Friday will bring a change in the weather pattern. A couple of low-pressure systems will impact the region, starting with a cold front punching through the region Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Temperatures will rise back to around 60 degrees Friday before dropping into the 50s for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday will bring a brief break from the rain before yet another system moves through the Great Lakes region. This will bring another cold front through the region, and this one will drop us into our first taste of winter. Showers start overnight showers and last through the day on Sunday. Some areas, mainly our highest elevations, will see this rain shift into snow later on Sunday as temperatures fall. Yes, that white powdery wet stuff, that snow. As of now, no significant accumulation is expected across the region aside from our highest mountains in Pocahontas county. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
