Dragon’s Den Gaming to host TCG Tournaments benefiting the Humane Society of Raleigh County

RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY)- Dragon’s Den gaming will be hosting trading card tournaments throughout the month of August.

Unlike typical tournaments, the entry fee is not exactly a cash fee, all that Dragon’s Den Gaming is asking for is $5 to $10 of dog or cat food.

It will all be donated to the Humane Society of Raleigh County. The society is very grateful for them and all donations they receive.

“We really so grateful to be in such a community that always thinks of our furry friends, that’s so sweet of them,” said Hannah Cottle, Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator. “Since we are a nonprofit, we are completely ran off the donations. So donations of food or supplies are always greatly appreciated because that’s more we’re able to give back to our animals and give them more care. Of course, they’re always fed and cared for correctly, but taking some of the stress off of us, figuring out where we’re going to get the money to do so.”

Dragon’s Den loves animals and being able to support the society. They are happy to do this for a second time.

“It’s just something that we like to do. I mean, as you can see, we are animal lovers,” said Allen Walker, Owner of Dragon’s Den Gaming. “This is one of them. This is Liliana Hiss named after a magic planes walker, Liliana Vess. It’s just we love animals here, so we wanted to give back to the community.”

Each week is a different tournament for those to compete in.

“The 10th is, Spearhead Age of Sigmar, the 17th is Pokémon, the 24th is Magic, a pauper event, and the 31st is Lorcana,” explained Walker.

For those who want to donate but not play they are happily accepting donations either way.

So if you want a chance to play in some local trading cards tournaments for low cost, then all you have to do is bring dog or cat food and it’ll go to a good cause.
