Don Blankenship is Constitution Party Nominee for President

WILLIAMSON, WV (NEWS RELEASE) – Former Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship has been nominated by the Constitution Party as their nominee for President of the United States for 2020.

Blankenship stated, “I am running for President to let people know how dire the American situation is and what must be done to fix it.  We cannot survive as a country if we do not stop the Republican and Democrat nonsense.”

Citing his displeasure with the corruption and ignorance in Washington DC, Blankenship says something must be done if America is to return to the country it once was.  He has frequently spoken out about the insanity of our trade policies, the elite’s misplaced obsession with environmental extremism, misguided unions, and illegal immigration.

Blankenship calls is plan The Third Way Plan for America.  Available at his plan has three principles: Equality, Ethics, and Exactness.  Said Blankenship, “Americans must stand up for right versus wrong, not Republican versus Democrat. If we follow my THIRD WAY we can get back to solving problems for ordinary Americans, instead of worrying if it makes the two major political parties and their corporate media sponsors happy.”

Blankenship joined Massey Energy subsidiary Rawl Sales & Processing Co., in 1982.  He went on to serve Massey Energy in a number of capacities.  He was promoted to president of Massey Coal Services, Inc. (1989–1991), then president and chief operating officer from 1990 to 1991.  In 1992, Blankenship was named president, chairman of the board of A.T. Massey.  He is the first non-Massey family member to be in charge of the company.  When A.T. Massey was spun off from Fluor Corporation as Massey Energy in 2000, Blankenship became the newly independent company’s chairman and CEO.  On December 3, 2010, Blankenship announced that he was retiring as CEO.

Blankenship has been an active participant in West Virginia politics, and is widely regarded as the single individual who drove extreme liberals out of power in that state.  During a speech at the Tug Valley Mining Institute on November 20, 2008, Blankenship called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator Harry Reid and former Vice President Al Gore “crazies” and “greeniacs.”  He has also spoken out against media coverage and what he calls false attacks by liberal media.  He has long cautioned that America’s dependence on China would someday come back to haunt Americans.

A graduate of Marshall University and a Certified Public Accountant, Blankenship still calls West Virginia home but spends a lot of his time in Nevada. He has two grown children and five grandchildren.
