West Virginia (WOAY)- The West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS) Bureau for Families Assistance (BFA) has extended the application deadline for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP).Â
The new deadline is December 13.Â
The federal program assists eligible state residents in paying home heating bills.
Eligibility for benefits is based on income, household size, and whether the household is responsible for paying its heating bill.
To qualify, households must meet all program guidelines, including an applicant’s annual income at or below 60 percent of the state median income.
