OAK HILL, WV (ALYSA CARSLEY, WOAY METEOROLOGIST) – Our morning started off chilly! Low temperatures were in the lower-30s, almost a 20-degree difference from yesterday’s mild wake up.
We have been seeing scattered snow showers this morning. The sunshine from yesterday combined with how warm we have been over the last couple of days has helped the ground stay above freezing for this morning, so the snow really hasn’t been able to accumulation. But NOW, temperatures are starting to take a cold hit and the snow is starting to set on the ground.
We could see a few flurries still around lunchtime. Highs stay in the lower-30s. We get a little bit of sun throughout the afternoon but clouds quickly build back in and snow ramps back up again around your evening commute.
Snow showers continue throughout the overnight hours. Again, snow showers won’t move out until mid-morning tomorrow. Expect to see a little more snow tonight due to temperatures being right at freezing for highs today and snow will be able to accumulate. Highest elevations could see around 1-2″ and everyone else, a dusting to 1″.
High pressure slides in tomorrow afternoon and returns bundle amounts of sunshine as we end the work week. As for the cold weather, expect it to be kicked out as we have a big warm up in store for this weekend. Highs will soar back into the mid-50s.
