DHHR providing Supplemental Propane Payment to qualifying residents for the 2023-2024 Winter Season

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) announces a supplemental payment to assist eligible residents with propane heating expenses for the 2023-24 winter season.

Charleston, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Division of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) is offering supplemental payments to help qualified residents with propane heating costs this winter.

Residents heating their homes using propane who received a regular low-income energy assistance program payment this past winter are automatically eligible for an $84 allowance to help with heating expenses.

The funding for these payments stems from a $250,000 donation following a class action settlement in the Swinger v. AmeriGas case.

The DHHR anticipates residents will receive all payments by Friday, November 24.
