Deputies Search for Man Involved in Altercation Involving Weapons

MEADOW BRIDGE (News Release)— At least one Fayette County man is in the hospital tonight following an altercation involving weapons. Sheriff Mike Fridley released the following information regarding this incident.

Shorty after 7:00 pm this evening Deputies were dispatched to Sewell Creek Road in Meadow Bridge in reference to a possible stabbing incident. Upon arrival, the Sheriff’s Deputy found a man on the porch of the property who had been severely beaten. The man also had cuts to the face that may possibly have been done by a knife. This subject, Lee Fox of Meadow Bridge, wasn’t unable to provide much info due to his condition.

A witness to a portion of the incident advised that Fox and another subject, Reggie Redden (possibly of nearby Summers County) had gotten into an alteration at this location. Fox allegedly stabbed Redden in the back of the head during the fight. After this, Redden had beaten Fox severely, and caused the lacerations to his face. Redden fled the scene prior to the deputy’s arrival, and was unable to be located.

Area hospitals were put on alert should he show up to have injuries treated.
Fox was transported to Raleigh General Hospital for the treatment of his injuries. According to medics on scene, Fox also had a very low body temperature due to sitting on the porch for a long period of time before being discovered by the caller.

Deputies will continue to search for Redden as a means to check his health and welfare. Criminal charges may be pending in this case in the days to come.

If you have any information regarding this incident or know the wherabouts of Reggie Redden, contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department at 304-574-3590, or through our Facebook page “Fayette County Sheriff’s Department,” or you can contact Crime Stoppers of West Virginia at 304-255-STOP.
