DEP Secretary Visits Hinton

HINTON– The West Virginia Department of Environmental Secretary visited Hinton on Friday to stress the importance of one of their programs.

Secretary Austin Caperton was in Hinton at The Greenbrier River to talk about the Large River Ambient Monitoring Program. This program started in the 1940s samples 26 rivers and streams in the state for things like bacteria, metals, PH and more. It if funded through the general revenue and Caperton fears any more cuts made to the general fund, will lead to cuts in programs like this one.
