Delightful Day; Active Weather Coming

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Mostly sunny skies, mild temperatures, and breezy conditions will persist through the day, making for a wonderful day for any outdoor work or activities. A warm front passing through the region will take the credit for this quick and brief warm up. The low-pressure system dragging the front along will miss well to our north, keeping us dry for a couple more days before much needed rain pops into the forecast. We’ll even see some wintery weather come next week. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the ups and downs of the forecast:

Tomorrow will be uneventful with temperatures dropping back into the 50s and skies staying mostly sunny. Friday is where we’ll see a shift in the weather. The morning will start off with mostly sunny skies, similar to previous days. However, another low-pressure system passes through the Great Lakes and Canada, which will drag a line of showers through the region. Afternoon rain chances are lower, but these chances spike late into the evening and last through the overnight hours as the line passes. Showers will linger Saturday morning, but will leave soon after and keep Saturday mostly dry.

The second round of rain for the weekend comes on Sunday, as another low-pressure system blows through the region. The system starts with rain through the day, but temperatures will decline significantly after the cold front associated with this system passes. With the decrease of temperature and loss of daytime heating, these showers will switch from rain to snow overnight into Monday morning. Light accumulation is possible, with higher amounts in our highest mountains. Flurries will linger Monday morning before leaving the region. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
