Deadly House Fire In Rainelle

CHARLESTON, WV (WCHS/WVAH) — West Virginia fire marshals said three people have died in fires in Monongalia and Greenbrier counties.

Two people were killed in a blaze on Morris Street in Morgantown, fire marshals said. A fire department spokeswoman said the fire occurred early Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, a 61-year-old woman was killed in an accidental apartment fire Tuesday night in Rainelle, fire marshals said.

Smoking while home oxygen was in use was a factor in the Greenbrier County death, fire marshals said. The Rainelle apartment did have smoke detectors.
