Charleston, WV (WOAY) State Treasurer Larry Pack is reminding families that there is still time to enter the smart529 “Fund the Future” sweepstakes for a chance to win $10,000 in college savings.
The statewide sweepstakes is open to West Virginia children ages 17 and younger.
One winner will receive $10,000 deposited directly into a SMART529 account to help pay for future higher education expenses.
Treasurer Pack says saving for college is critical for families and future generations of West Virginians.
Since launching the sweepstakes earlier this month, officials say more than 42-hundred entries have already been submitted.
To qualify, entries must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, and both the child and parent must be West Virginia residents.
Only one entry is allowed per eligible child, although multiple children in the same household may enter.
The deadline to enter is Wednesday, May 20.
The winner will be randomly selected and announced on May 29, also known as National 529 Day.
Families can enter and view official rules online at SMART529.com.
