BECKLEY, WV (WOAY)- Giving back to the community was the goal today at the sixth annual Beckley Day Of Hope.
Free food, shoes, dental and medical exams along with family photographs was what those who attended received.
Despite the rain, members of the community came out to the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center to receive supplies they may not have access to and some shared with Newswatch what they were most excited for during the event.
“I really liked the snow cones,” said Sandy Brown a 2nd grader at Bradley Elementary.
Margaret Dangerfield, a volunteer said, “For us who are volunteering, its the greatest gift because we know that we are helping make someone’s day,” said Dangerfield.
Beckley Day of Hope helps to lend a hand and bless the community.
