A Cool Ridge Man located in Raleigh County has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses.

Cool Ridge–According to a Press Release by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, on March 2nd, 2017, they responded to a domestic call.  They discovered Eric Bennett had broken into his ex-wife’s residence and was waiting on her to return.  The ex-wife had a restraining order on Bennett.

When deputies confronted Bennett, he was armed with 2 fixed blade knives.  Bennett began to fight with deputies and he was disarmed and restrained. Bennett was taken into custody and charged with burglary, domestic assault, 2 counts of battery on a police officer and violation of a domestic violence petition.  Bennett also had warrants in Ohio County. Bennett is also a fugitive from justice from Belmont County Ohio and is also wanted by the U.S. Marshall’s Service for federal probation violation.

Bennett is currently in the Southern Regional Jail on the local charges and will be awaiting possible extradition.
