Concord University Hosting An Open House With Other Universities

ATHENS, WV (WOAY)- Concord University will join other institutions at the Erma Byrd Higher Education Center Complex for an open house on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Center is located at 300 University Drive in Beaver, WV.

Individuals attending the open house will have an opportunity to meet with faculty and staff to learn more about online and in-seat programs offered through the center that can lead to undergraduate and graduate degrees.

“Many people do not realize that the Erma Byrd Higher Education Center supports education from associate’s through master’s degrees. With classrooms for face-to-face instruction, computer labs for online work, and collaboration rooms for group work, the center puts education right in our hands,” stated Dr. Susan Williams, Director of Concord University’s Beckley location.

The HEC’s purpose is to support the region’s students. The center has a library and computer labs that are open until 10 p.m. so that students have a convenient and
safe place to study and to meet, Dr. Williams explained.

Registration for the July 25 open house is free. To register for the event, please contact Lisa Moten at 304-256-0282. Refreshments, games and additional activities are also part of the evening.

Along with Concord University, institutions located at the Erma Byrd Center include Bluefield State College, Marshall University and New River Community and Technical College.
