Concord Splits Doubleheader With Glenville State

Athens, WV (WOAY) – Concord men’s basketball has now won three straight after an 84-70 victory over Glenville State Tuesday night in Athens.

The Mountain Lions led by 11 at halftime, and withstood a Pioneers’ rally in the second half to improve to 6-3 overall, 4-1 in the Mountain East. Junior Tommy Bolte, the league’s reigning Player of the Week, led the way with 22 points, while three others reached double figures.

The Lady Lions also hosted Glenville State, with the Lady Pioneers establishing momentum early as they won 127-82. Five players reached double figures for Concord, including Madison May, who matched her career high with 21 points. Riley Fitzwater had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Concord heads to Buckhannon Saturday for a doubleheader with West Virginia Wesleyan; it will be the Lady Lions’ last game of the calendar year.
