Concord in Final Week, Splits Doubleheader

Athens, WV (WOAY) – Hear from Concord basketball’s head coaches, Todd May & Kenny Osborne, as the Mountain Lions begin the final week of the regular season.

The Mountain Lion men took a high-scoring contest at West Virginia State Wednesday night, 95-91, to extend their win streak to three games. Tommy Bolte’s 49 points matched a Mountain East Conference single-game record, while BJ Hamlet contributed 14 points. Todd May’s team entered this week having already clinched a conference tournament berth, and has a chance to improve its seed this weekend.

Concord women’s basketball dropped its contest with the Lady Jackets 90-68, though PikeView alumna Madison May recorded a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Danielle Catron’s 14 points moves her into the school’s top 10 scoring list all-time. The Lady Lions entered this week in good shape to clinch a tournament berth, which is now confirmed after West Virginia Wesleyan’s loss on Wednesday.

Concord closes the regular season Saturday at home against UVa-Wise.
