Princeton, WV (WOAY) – One of the nation’s largest telecommunications providers is expanding broadband services for some Mercer County residents.
According to a media release on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Comcast announced a major expansion project that connects the first residents and businesses to reliable, high-speed, symmetrical, internet in the Princeton, WV area. The expansion makes Xfinity and Comcast Business services available to more than 5,000 homes and businesses.
“We are excited to have another provider in town, bringing residents and businesses in Princeton more ways to meet their connectivity needs,” said Princeton’s Economic Development Director, Samuel Lusk. “We thank Comcast for its significant investment in our community, which will help ensure that our residents and businesses have yet another way to connect to the digital world and participate in the gig economy.”
The broadband upgrades are a port of a $107 million investment in technology and infrastructure by Comcast. The company has also made upgrades to its local network over the past three years.
