Cold Weather Brings The Risk Of Frostbite

WEST VIRGINIA (WOAY)-  Below freezing temperatures, as well as negative wind chill, can pose serious health risks.

With these extremely cold weather conditions, people are at risk for frostbite.

The initial symptom of frostbite is typically numbness and may be followed by a white or bluish color to the skin. If frostbite becomes severe, swelling or blistering may occur.

The most common places for frostbite are your hands, feet and face. In order to prevent frostbite, make sure to dress in layers and always protect your face, hands and feet.
