Cold Front Promises a Return To Autumn Weather

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): A few showers will follow a cold front through southern West Virginia Monday.

TONIGHT into MONDAY: Rain is expected to develop around daybreak and the cold front will move through between 10 a.m. and Noon. Temperatures will drop from the low 60s at the bus stop to the 40s by the drive home from work. Rain will end between 7-9 p.m. Total rainfall will stay under a half inch.

TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY: Early frost Tuesday in the deeper valleys where winds will be light will give way to partly cloudy skies and highs in the 40s. Winds will pick up early Wednesday between 1-6 a.m. Sustained wind will reach 10-15 mph and gusts 20-25 mph with a flurry possible along I-64 prior to 9 a.m., and then winds will relax and dry weather is expected under mostly cloudy skies. A light dusting of snow is expected in Pocahontas County. Highs will stay in the upper 30s, except 20s in the Monongahela National Forest.

THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY: A much milder regime is expected with dry weather. Friday night football games will be dry with temperatures dropping from the 50s into the upper 40s.
