WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): After a few lingering showers, the clouds will gradually part and give us sunshine in the later half of the afternoon. The sunshine will continue through the weekend before we get back into the wet weather for next week. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the full forecast:
Overnight into tomorrow morning will see temperatures dropping into the 30s. If you have overnight plans, be sure to bundle up for the frosty conditions and give some extra time to scrape frost off cars in the morning. Fayette, western Greenbrier, Nicholas, and southern Pocahontas counties are under a Frost Advisory from 2AM to 8AM Saturday morning.
After the frosty morning, the rest of the weekend will be splendid. Sunny skies on Saturday and a few clouds on Mother’s Day will make for a wonderful break from all the wet weather. We’ll stay in the upper 60s on Saturday before warming up again on Sunday. Make sure to enjoy the weekend ahead, as we’ll be back to the wet weather pattern over the next week.
The rain will start Monday afternoon as a low pressure system slowly makes its way to the northeast from the deep south. Showers will continue into Tuesday and continue to develop further into thunderstorms in the middle of next week. This is a slow moving system, which may cause some water issues. However, the rainfall totals with this system are shaping up to be well spread out rather than a major downpour. Ponding of water will be likely, but more intense flooding is not expected. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
Over the next 6 to 10 days, we will see both warmer temperatures and above average precipitation. A Pacific Ridge pattern is settling in during the middle of next week as the western side of the country is going to cool off substantially. This pattern is causing the above average temperatures and precipitation through the next 6 to 10 days. Here’s a look at the 6-10 day outlook:
